The head and bow of the brooch remain, though the pin and foot are missing. The head has a square plate, with softened corners. From each side and the top of the headplate are cast integral fan-shaped knobs. The reverse of the head has a centrally-placed single lug, incomplete, to take a hinged pin. The bow is gently carinated with worn, notched corners, below which is a double incised band at the top of the bow and a triple-incised band at the bottom of the bow. The bow also tapers in width from the top to the bottom where it connects with the foot.
