A medieval silver-gilt finger-ring. The band is of rectangular section, and is inscribed in Lombardic characters 'AVE MARIA GRACIA PLENA' [Hail Mary full of grace], against a cross-hatched ground. The gilding is worn and survives mainly in the recessed areas and on the inside surface of the ring. The ring dates to the 13th or early 14th century.
