A Medieval cast copper-alloy double-looped annular buckle frame (c. 1400-c. 1500). Each loop is oval in plan and similar in size. The frame is convex at the front and slightly convex at the rear. The central bar is incomplete and corroded. Therefore, it is not possible to define its original cross-section. The pin is missing. There is no indication of a pin-rest. There are two integral sub-rectangular projections on one outside edge. This buckle has a mid-green patina overall. 36.8 x 26.3 x 2.4mm. Weight: 3.44g.
Similar buckles with projections have been dated c. 1400-1500 (Whitehead 1996: 46, refs: 267, 268).
