A Medieval copper alloy bar mount dating 13th - 14th century. This mount has been constructed from a rectangular piece of copper alloy with two rivet holes arranged along the mid-line. The rivets are still in situ. The front surface is decorated with a pelleted border and a groove along each of the longer edges. The copper alloy has a pale green patina.<\/p>

Egan & Pritchard (1991:212 no.1132) illustrates similar examples which were found still attached to a leather strap. These mounts were found in a context which dated 1270-1350.<\/p>
