Fragment of a shallow copper alloy plate which would have measured in excess of 20cmm in diameter. The upper outside edge of the rim curves slightly downward and is cast with a strengthening lip on the underside which makes it easier to grip. The fragment is a dull green in colour and slightly rough to the touch where it has suffered corrosion either from acid soil or farm chemicals. The fragment weighs 24.99g and is 54.16 mm L x 40.62 mm W and 4.24 mm T at the rim. The thickness of the plate reduces to 2.45 mm inside the rim.

Notes:

In the absence of any data from associated finds the condition of this object and the quality of manufacture suggest that it is from the Post Medieval period.
