Silver coin. Long cross halfpenny, as identified by finder. Probably Durham mint, and if so this should belong to Classes 11a-15d. This would probably make the coin an issue of Edward II (1307-1327), issue of 1310-1327. In poor condition, torn, part lost and perhaps burned.

Obverse description: facing bust, low apparently bifoliate crown, initial cross pattee.

Obverse inscription: EDW[---]N[---]

Reverse description: Long cross, either trefoils or very closely spaced groups of three pellets in each angle.

Reverse inscription: (CI)VI/TAS?/DVN/[---]; as noted above, the reading of reverse legend indicates a late date for the coin.

Diameter: 15.8mm, Weight: 0.56gms, die axis: 7.
