The coin has been pierced by punching a hole in the centre of the flan fom the reverse, with the removed metal being pushed onto the front of the coin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n<p>Pierced coins can be considered as potential Treasure if they have been modified so they are no longer a coin, but an artefact.
