A silver annular brooch and pin. The frame is circular in section, with angled grooves on the upper face, most of which retain niello. The grooves are closely spaced, except at one point where several grooves are at different angles to the rest, with larger spaces between them. The cast pin is lozengiform in section with a fine line of engraved rocker arm forming a zigzag on each face. The pin has short flanges or stirrups to either side decorated on the upper and lower face with a line of engraved rocker arm, and two lines of engraved rocker arm on the upper face of the loop around the frame. There is no constriction for the pin. Two very similar 13th - 14th century examples have been found in Wales (Treasure Annual Report 2005/6, 404, fig.1228 and 1230). External diameter 25.5mm. Internal diameter 21.5mm. Length of pin 27mm. Weight 2.43g.
