A cast copper-alloy Irish mount of Early Medieval date, probably 8th-9th century.<\/p>\n
The mount is linear in plan, like a capital 'I' with an upper and lower cross bar and a square centre. The outlines of the brooch have a raised border, with raised reticulate interlace decorating the body. There are very small traces of gilding on the interlace.
