The strap end fits Thomas' class A type 2 strap end, with a split end, tapering plate, and zoomorphic terminal, with patterned decoration. This example is very worn, with details of the zoomorphic terminal missing, and the split end incomplete, though still a recognizably split end. The patterned decoration is also worn, but consists of two or three distinct areas of decoration on the body. Near the terminal, a linear depression in the centre is flanked by five or six short transverse depressions. Above this is a second decorated area that may be the same as the split panels closer to the split end of the strap end, but it is uncertain due to wear and corrosion.

The reverse is undecorated.","","","2010-11-12 15:44:08","2010-11-12 15:46:00","4","","","2010-08-01","2010-10-31","","","","1","","1","1","","","3","3","","rcollins","Robert Collins","NCL","rcollins","Robert Collins","Copper alloy","","","","Cast","","Incomplete","Fair","","EARLY MEDIEVAL","MEDIEVAL","","Metal detector","","Dr Robert Collins","","Dr Robert Collins","NORTHUMBERLAND","ULGHAM","CASTLE MORPETH","","","","NZ2492","NZ2492","NZ29SW","","","","","","","From Finder","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","304425","IMG_4861.jpg","images/rcollins/",
