A medieval gold finger-ring set with a purple stone, possibly amethyst. The stone is triangular in shape and is set into a trilobed bezel which reflects the shape of the stone. The shoulders and bezel widen from the hoop. The hoop is plain, and now distorted.
Notes:
The find qualifies as Treasure under the stipulations of the Treasure Act 1996 in terms of both age and precious metal content.
