<full>Probably an Early Medieval copper alloy ring fitting from a hanging bowl dating to the 11th century.  The object is C&#45;shaped in profile with an animal&#39;s head decorating the upper section of the fitting.  It has a triangular cross&#45;section which expands at the zoomorphic decoration and the reverse at this point becomes concave.  There are filemarks on the reverse.  The animal&#39;s head has lentoid eyes and a curved back tip to the nose which is typical of Urnes style decoration.


Dimensions: length: 38.69mm; width: 23.33mm; thickness: 22.50mm; weight: 38.10g.
