SEAL
Unique ID: YORYM-AAFB23
A fragment of a lead cloth seal, dating from the 16th - 17th Century.
Only about 50% of the seal survives. The traders' mark is still partially visible on the front surface. It takes the form of a letter G, with a scroll below it and up the middle of the seal. Presumably a second letter would have been visible on the right, but this has broken off. The reverse seal features another letter which is not that clear, possibly an I or L.
Similar seals can be seen in Egan, p181.
Notes:
This seal was recorded by Jim Halliday and the information was passed to the PAS, along with the photograph. The FLO has not seen the item.
