From the late 13th century to the 15th century.<\/p><p>\n<\/p>\n\n<p>\n<\/p>\n\n<p>Inscription: S'SUBSIDII PANNORUM IN COMT ESSE<\/p><p>\n<\/p>\n\n<p>Central motif: Kings Head.<\/p><p>\n<\/p>\n\n<p>The seal will most likely have had a wooden handle, which in now missing.<\/p><p>\n<\/p>\n\n<p>\n<\/p>\n\n<p>Comments by John Cherry: There are a number of these seals in the British Museums collections. A B Tonnochy Catalogue 1954 no's 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33. They run from the late 13th century to the fifteenth. Presumably each county had one (possibly more). This one has a crowned head in the middle and I would suggest a late 13th or early 14th century date.<\/p>","notes":"<p>The details for this object were sent to Jim Halliday for recording.
