HARNESS PENDANT</objecttype>
<descriptions>
<description>
<full>An incomplete cast copper alloy harness pendant of medieval date. The harness pendant is lozenge shaped with a thin rectangular section. A circular suspension loop projects from the upper corner of the pendant. One face is decorated with an incised design of an indeterminable zoomorphic figure, or possibly two entwined beasties. The presence of clawed feet suggest the animal may be a type of bird. Red and blue enamel survives within the decorated field and pick out some of the main details on the design. There is a linear border around the edge of the lozenge shape.
The reverse of the harness pendant is flat and undecorated.
The metal has a dark brownish&#45;green patina and worn. The pendant is 47mm long, 34mm wide and 3mm thick. It is very similar to PAS database No: YORYM&#45;1BFF62 found at South Holme, North Yorkshire.</full>

<notes>This harness pendant was recorded at the East Riding Museums Service and the information was passed to the FLO. The FLO has not seen the harness pendant and has used the photograph taken at the East Riding Museums Service for this record.</notes>
