HARNESS PENDANT

Unique ID: YORYM-DEFC71

An incomplete cast copper alloy oval harness pendant of medieval date. The front surface of the oval bears an indiscernible design. The reverse is undecorated. The sides of the pendant are badly damaged. The remains of a suspension loop project from the top of the oval although the loop itself is missing. The metal is a dark greenish-brown colour and is very worn and corroded. Harness pendants of this type date to the 13th or 14th century.

Notes:

This harness pendant was recorded at the East Riding Museums Service and the information was passed to the FLO. The FLO has not seen the harness pendant and has used the photograph taken at the East Riding Museums Service for this record.
