A cast lead pilgrim's ampulla of medieval date. The ampulla is broken, missing it's top. It is flask shaped and hollow. One side is depressed and is decorated with a crown above a lozengiform motif with something in the centre. The central element does not appear to be a letter, common on many pilgrim's ampullae, but may possibly be a plume or foliage, although it is difficult to make out. The other side of the ampulla is cracked and very worn but does not appear to have been decorated. Due to the wear the specific shrine whence this ampulla came has not yet been determined. It measures 30.5 mm from its base to the broken top, 31.9 mm wide and 6.8 mm thick. It weighs 18.8 grams.
