The dress fastener is formed from two hemispheres joined to form a hollow spherical ball with a projecting circular attachment loop. The fastener is decorated with an openwork design and multiple pellets arranged in concentric circles radiating from a central point. A double banded filigree \"rope-work\" collar is present where the two hemispheres join. A further two bands of filigree are present on each hemisphere from which some of the pellets project.<br \/>\nFrom one hemisphere a centrally placed attachment loop projects with a narrow D-shaped section.<br \/>\nTraces of gilding survive on the decoration and the loop.
