<notes>A number of Byzantine coins from Carthage have been found in Britain. It is not possible to be certain that this is an ancient loss, but the patina and level of preservation is consistent with other ancient copper-alloy artefacts found in the area, suggesting that it has been in the soil for some time. As such, there is a strong probability that the coin was not lost by an antiquarian or more recent collector.</notes>
