A fragment of an Early Saxon cruciform brooch. The lower bow and upper part of footplate survive, with all breaks being ancient. There is a single transverse groove on a rectangular panel at the base of the hollow-backed bow. At the top of the footplate, there are two drilled holes within double concentric rings and between stubs of lappets. Below the half-round moulding, only the brow of the animal-head terminal, with deep-moulded median groove, is extant. There is an incomplete catchplate on the reverse. The length of the surviving piece is 46mm. It dates from the early 6th century.
