Mount. Cast silver gilt rectangular openwork quatrefoil. Two oval crosshatched bosses with foliate decoration on either side forming four openwork foils, with two smaller crosshatched bosses projecting between the foils at the side. Central hole containing a dome headed rivet. The shank of the rivet has been wrapped in a piece of silver sheet to increase it's thickness and the base of the original shank which is still visible appears discoloured. Cf. PAS database NARC-883270 and LEIC-F554E7 for broadly similar mounts. Late 15th - 16th century. 16 x 14.5mm, 2mm thick (excluding rivet).
