Pipeclay tobacco pipe fragments. A fragment of pipe bowl with flat oval pedestal of length 14mm, and two fragments of pipe stem. Both stem fragments and that attached to the bowl fragment are fairly thick; angle of bowl is compatible with northern bulbous pipes of the later 17th century, but belongs to a broader bowl than these. The bore of the stem attached to bowl is wide at 3.5mm. Suggested date: 1700-1750.
Length (largest fragment): 45.4mm, Height (bowl): 25.7mm, Weight (all three fragments): 15.79g.
