UNIDENTIFIED OBJECT
Unique ID: YORYM-14D016
A cast copper alloy fragment from an unidentified object. The object is formed from a rectangular sectioned strip of metal. The section has been slightly flattened at either terminal. Both terminals appear broken and are very worn. The strip is bent about two-thirds of the way along. The metal is a mid greyish-green colour. A precise date for this object can not be guaranteed as it is rather fragmentary and undiagnostic.
Notes:
These remains are coming from a site which is producing early-medieval cremation debris dating from the 5th - 7th Century. The finder has reported that no bone fragments or pottery sherds are evident within the plough soil.
