"390163","YORYM-149874","PAS4BF1498700189F","MOUNT","","","20.9","","15.7","8.9","","1","","","EARLY MEDIEVAL","450","700","An incomplete cast copper alloy mount of early medieval date. The mount appears to have been rectangular in plan when whole though now only a small portion remains, it is not possible to ascertain the exact proportion of the loss. It consists of a raised rectangular border within which is a decorated panel. The panel is decorated with a Style I animal motif though only the foot of the beast remains. It is common with Style I decoration that the motifs can be interpretable in a number of ways, especially if turned through 90 degrees, although some may seem impossible to interpret.
The reverse of the mount is undecorated and a single long attachment rivet is present in the centre of the fragment.
The metal is a dark brownish-green colour and is slightly worn. The mount is 20.9mm long, 15.7mm wide, 8.9mm thick and weighs 3.4g.
","These remains are coming from a site which is producing early-medieval cremation debris dating from the 5th - 7th Century. The finder has reported that no bone fragments or pottery sherds are evident within the plough soil.","","2010-05-17 14:49:59","2010-05-20 12:36:00","4","","1","2010-01-02","","","","","1","1","1","1","","","1","2","","law","Liz Andrews-Wilson","YORYM","law","Liz Andrews-Wilson","Copper alloy","","","","Cast","","Fragment","","Certain","EARLY MEDIEVAL","","","Metal detector","","Mrs Liz Andrews-Wilson","","Mrs Liz Andrews-Wilson","EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE","","EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE","","","","","TA5046","TA06NE","","","","","","Near Bridlington","From Map","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","","281972","BL0914.jpg","images/law/",
