Unique ID: CPAT-289524
An incomplete lead pilgrim’s ampulla from the medieval period (1350-1550). The ampulla has lost the top section including the suspension loops. One face has a finely cut scallop shell design terminating at the waist with a band of cross hatching. The reverse had a circle of dots and a probable design to the centre but erosion in the ground has removed the evidence.
The artefact is now covered in a dull grey patina.
