<summary>A worn and very clipped 12th&#45;century medieval penny of Stephen of the &#39;Watford&#39; type, Southern Group BMC i variant ANT type, probably Southampton mint, moneyer Sanson (c. 1136 &#45; c. 1154 AD; North 905)</summary>
<notes>At the time of writing this is the third such coin recorded on this database, with HAMP&#45;86DE07 (from Hampshire) and SUSS&#45;6C9295 (from West Sussex, but near the Hampshire border) being the others.  A further possible example recorded on the UKDFD database (UKDFD Ref. No. &#45; 18687; EMC number 2009.0173) was found in Oxfordshire.  These findspots would seem to affirm the suggestion of Southampton as the mint.  This is echoed in the fifteen coins (including the Oxfordshire coin mentioned) recorded on the EMC, although the larger sample (inevitably) has more outliers.</notes>
