<description>
<full>A Mesolithic flint bladelet core, 8,300&#45;4,500BC. This is a two platform core with bladelet flake removal scars from approximately 60% of the surface. The remaining surface still has the green/black cortex present. Jon Cotton notes, this cortex has orange patches which is very distinctive and identifies the flint as Bullhead Bed flint, from the Thanet chalk interface, Reading beds. This is a good quality flint which is commonly used because of its easy ability to be knapped.

Dimensions: length: 54.87mm; width: 28.01mm; thickness: 20.28mm; weight: 38.64g.</full>
