<full>A fragment of a medieval decorated floor tile. This is one of the 'two-colour' type tiles; inlaid decoration of white clay, then glazed with a clear lead glaze gives the tile a two-tone effect producing a yellow and brown coloured tile. These coloured tiles were very popular during the later medieval period. The method of inlaying a thin band of white clay into the surface of the tile, and that the completed design is slightly smudged suggests an early medieval date, from the late 13th century through to c. 16th century. </full>
