Silver spoon bowl

Description:
An incomplete silver spoon bowl. The bowl is sub-oval in shape, with a squared-off edge at the terminal. Neither the interior nor the exterior surfaces of the bowl are decorated, but both surfaces are pitted and exhibit signs of active corrosion. The bowl has broken across its width, revealing a section of two layers. The break is irregular and has removed all traces of the stem attachment or any surviving heel.
Discussion:
A search through the back dated Treasure reports produced no parallel for this piece.

Due to the undiagnostic nature of the find it cannot be securely dated to pre-1710 and as such falls outside the provisions of the Treasure Act 1996. This object was returned to the finder.
