Incomplete cast copper alloy buckle frame. Only the outer edge and one side of the frame survives, the rest is lost to old breaks. The remaining sides suggest the frame was trapezoid with a flat back and inner side and bevelled outer side. There is a knop at the remaining end of the strap bar, large circular knops with cross hatch decoration in each of the outer corners and a raised rectaingular pin rest with central groove in the centre of the outer side. Traces of gilding remain on the front. It is 27.3mm long, 14.8mm wide and 3.7mm thick; it weighs 2.26 grams.
Although the frame is incomplete it is similar to other examples on the datebase (e.g. BH-C99224, BH-92F922 and SF-71EDD8) and an example from Meols, Cheshire (Egan 2007: 101 no. 755) which is dated to the mid 12th to mid 13th centurys.
