Incomplete detachable (right-hand) side knob of Group V cruciform brooch depicting a human mask, with row of tiny triangular stamped impressions near the inner edge and part of loop for retaining the pin bar on the reverse. The outer openwork part is missing. Ancient breaks but some recent damage. 6th century.
