SPEARHEAD
Unique ID: YORYM-1DCE14
A fragment of a cast copper alloy spearhead, the fragment comes from the tip end and all that survives is the tip proper. The spearhead seems to have been very long and thin judging by the angles of the two sides. The midrib is very shallow, forming a lozenge section and is solid, but a hollow central section can been seen where the break occurred. This could suggest that it was just the tip that was solid. The blade edges are eroded, and the whole artefact is worn, with a pitted surface, which is light greyish-green. This artefact dates to the late Bronze Age (1150- 800 BC).
