Large hole in cylindrical head.A similar but undecorated example was found at Fishbourne (Cunliffe 1971, 104 no. 38 fig. 39). Knee brooches are a Continental form, possibly originating in the Rhine area of Germany. There is a preponderance of finds in northern Britain. Enamelled examples are not particularly common.
