A lead two part cloth seal, circular with a diameter of 23mm. Disc one has R P on it, this may be the owners initials. This cloth seal would have been used to mark cloth intended for commercial sale. Such cloth seals were used in Europe between the 13th and 19th centuries (Egan 1995, 1).
