The lateral knobs on the headplate project from two sub-triangular wings, although the knob and wing on the right side of the headplate are now missing. There is a single broken perforated lug on the back of the headplate. The knobs are half-rounded, placing this brooch in Aberg's Group II. The brooch is broken at the junction of the bow and foot, the break being worn. This brooch dates to circa 450-525 AD.
