Head from of a copper-alloy early Anglo-Saxon brooch. It has three roughly rectangular knobs, half-rounded and with a flattish cross-section. There are two perforated lugs on the reverse of the headplate, with the remains of the iron spring/pin mechanism surviving between them. There is a worn break at the junction of the headplate and bow. The brooch has an even brown patina. Although this brooch clearly refers to a cruciform brooch of Aberg's Class II, the simple nature of its design (with no wings to the headplate) suggests that it may actually be part of a small long brooch with a headplate imitating that of a cruciform brooch.
