Unusual incomplete bow brooch, which has lost its foot and pin and has suffered some damage to the wings. The brooch appears to carry characteristics of both the Hod Hill and T-shaped brooch types. The bow is hollow on the reverse (better paralleled with Hod Hill variants) and is parallel sided at the head before the bow gently curves inwards and then partially out again. The sides then have a slight step, after which they are parallel sided to the break. This stepped tapering feature of the bow is reminiscent of T-shaped brooches. The head is decorated with an incised line along both sides and a prominent vertical double moulding carrying incised diagonal marks. The wings appear to be tubular rather than rolled, as with T-shaped brooches, but are comparatively short. The brooch employed a hinge mechanism.
