Copper alloy figurine of an equestrian Mars. The rider wears a short tunic. The reverse of the lower body shows three concentric bands which may indicate body armour, in particular lorica segmentata, although this would be somewhat unusual for standard cavalry armour. The right arm is extended to the side and raised at the elbow. It is broken shortly after and is likely to have held a spear. The left arm is also extended to the side, broken, and is likely to have held a shield. The face is very worn and the rider appears to wear a crested helmet. The legs are splayed, widened and flat on the inside to allow the rider to be mounted onto a horse figurine.
