{"recordID":"289661","finds":[{"created2":"2010 02 26","description":"A small fragment of copper alloy with a rivet still in position. The object is rectangular in plan and on end is an old break. The complete end is rounded. It is D shaped in section. A separate copper alloy rivet, which is square in section survives in the centre of the reverse. It is believed to be Early Medieval in date because its patina and condition are very similar to other Early Medieval finds from the same site, but it could also be medieval or post medieval. Its function is unknown but it could have been part of binding, maybe from a shield. It has no decoration on it. It has a length of 8.17mm, width 5.47mm, thickness 2.80mm, weight 0.56g. A close parallel has not been found.","notes":"This object and the attached records were recovered from a site which may be the location of an Early Medieval moot site, though later disturbance makes the site difficult to interpret. Archaeological work including trial trenching in advance of development has not yet revealed any further evidence. Most of the finds recovered through metal detecting are Early Medieval; material of this date is rare in West Yorkshire.","old_findID":"SWYOR-7CD8D7","id":"289661","objecttype":"mount","classification":null,"subclass":null,"reuse":null,"created":"2010-02-26 13:36:54","broadperiod":"EARLY MEDIEVAL","updated":"2011-02-24 13:52:42","treasureID":null,"secwfstage":"4","secuid":"0014B87CE7601B11","findofnote":"0","objecttypecert":"1","datefound1":"2010-01-18","datefound2":null,"createdBy":"1040","curr_loc":null,"inscription":null,"reason":null,"subsequentAction":"Returned to finder"}],"record":[{"id":"289661","old_findID":"SWYOR-7CD8D7","uniqueID":"0014B87CE7601B11","objecttype":"mount","classification":null,"subclass":null,"length":"8.17","height":null,"width":"5.47","thickness":"2.8","diameter":null,"quantity":"1","other_ref":null,"treasureID":null,"broadperiod":"EARLY MEDIEVAL","numdate1":"400","numdate2":"1066","description":"A small fragment of copper alloy with a rivet still in position.
