{"recordID":"289650","finds":[{"created2":"2010 02 26","description":"A fragment of copper alloy, probably a mount with two rivets still in place. The object is rectangular in plan and curved in section, with two separate thin wire copper alloy rivets surviving, with the ends thickened. The ends of the mount are probably old breaks. It has no visible decoration. It is believed to be Early Medieval in date because its patina and condition are very similar to other Early Medieval finds from the same site. Its function is unknown but it could have been part of binding, maybe from a shield. It has a length of 11.18mm, width 4.98mm, thickness 1.20mm, weight 0.38g. A close parallel has not been found.","notes":"This object and the attached records were recovered from a site which may be the location of an Early Medieval moot site, though later disturbance makes the site difficult to interpret. Archaeological work including trial trenching in advance of development has not yet revealed any further evidence. Most of the finds recovered through metal detecting are Early Medieval; material of this date is rare in West Yorkshire.","old_findID":"SWYOR-7CAAE7","id":"289650","objecttype":"mount","classification":null,"subclass":null,"reuse":null,"created":"2010-02-26 13:25:39","broadperiod":"EARLY MEDIEVAL","updated":"2011-02-24 13:52:42","treasureID":null,"secwfstage":"4","secuid":"0014B87CBD1014BB","findofnote":"0","objecttypecert":"1","datefound1":"2010-01-18","datefound2":null,"createdBy":"1040","curr_loc":null,"inscription":null,"reason":null,"subsequentAction":"Returned to finder"}],"record":[{"id":"289650","old_findID":"SWYOR-7CAAE7","uniqueID":"0014B87CBD1014BB","objecttype":"mount","classification":null,"subclass":null,"length":"11.18","height":null,"width":"4.98","thickness":"1.2","diameter":null,"quantity":"1","other_ref":null,"treasureID":null,"broadperiod":"EARLY MEDIEVAL","numdate1":"400","numdate2":"1066","description":"A fragment of copper alloy, probably a mount with two rivets still in place.
