A late Early Medieval (Anglo-Saxon/Viking) copper alloy finger-ring dating 850-1066AD. The finger ring is U shaped with a circular cross-section that tapers towards each point (diameter: 6.09mm narrowing to 0.82mm. One arm is slightly shorter than the other. The copper alloy has a dark green patina and traces of gilding remain on protected inner surfaces.

Helen Geake write there are several examples on the PAS database, mainly from Norfolk and Suffolk (18 copper-alloy examples without gilding). Gilded examples are also known see BH-48F3A3 for a close parallel, and BERK-E2A060. There are also some more easily datable twisted ones with gilding: BH-F06BC6 and LVPL-B07C55.
