There is a lot of damage to this fragment which obscures the detail but there is evidence where this fragment has been used as a hammer-stone to exert blows on another material. Dimensions: length: 62.17mm; width: 28.23mm; thickness: 25.34mm; weight: 52.44g. Notes: Jon Cotton notes that this assemblage of flint is not from one episode of activity within one period, rather it is part of the ‘background noise’ of typical material that would be widely found on floodplain areas. Similar assemblages are known in Richmond Park, the foreshore at Kew and Barnes.
