There are five vertical flake removal scars on the dorsal surface showing where other blades were removed from the core.  There are two notches on the right edge near the distal end but it is unclear whether these are original or more recent damage.  There is some possible retouch along the left edge and near both distal and proximal ends but there is also evidence of modern damage and the tip of the distal surface is missing.\r\n\r\nIdentification by Jon Cotton, Senior Prehistoric Curator Museum of London.\r\n\r\nDimensions: length: 52.71mm; width: 16.71mm; thickness: 5.23mm; weight: 5.25g.\r\n","notes":"Jon Cotton notes that this assemblage of flint is not from one episode of activity within  one period, rather it is part of the \u2018background noise\u2019 of typical material that would be widely found on floodplain areas.  Similar assemblages are known in Richmond Park, the foreshore at Kew and Barnes.
