A complete vessel spout in the shape of an animal's (possibly a dog's) head. The size and length of the spout and the lack of any support to attach it to the neck of a ewer, suggests that this may be from a double-spouted laver. The head is flat and has vertical ears on the sides of the neck, elongated eyes and a raised nose with grooves for the nostrils. The top of the neck is keeled and the expansion where it joins the body, has flat sides.
