This coin is an anonymous issue, struck after 211 BC. For a parallel, see Crawford 1975: 159, no. 56/5. The coin is missing a small portion, is slightly corroded but relatively unworn. It measures 17.3mm in diameter, 1.5mm thick and weighs 2.13g.","This is an anonymous issue which can only be dated to post-211 BC. It is, however, no later than the 2nd century BC. Copper-alloy coins of the Republican period are rare finds in Britain, the only other example on the PAS database being ESS-05C304. This coin was examined by M. H. Crawford, author of 'Roman Republican Coinage'.","","2009-12-04 14:24:09","2011-02-24 13:50:54","4","1","1","2009-10-10","","","","","","1","2","1","1","","","","","jwatters","Julian Watters","BH","dpett","Daniel Pett","Copper alloy","","","","Struck or hammered","","Incomplete","","Certain","ROMAN","","","Metal detector","","Mr Sam Moorhead","","Mr Julian Watters","BUCKINGHAMSHIRE","","WYCOMBE","","","","","SP4820","SP80SW","","","","","","Princes Risborough","From Finder","Head of Hercules right, [three dots to left].","No legend.","Prow of whip right; below, three dots.","[R]OMA, above prow.","Quadrans (Roman Republic)","2","","","","1","","2","","","","","","Regular","1","1","1","","","","1","","","","Republic","","Period 1","Pre AD 41","Rome (Italy)","Worn: fine","","","","","8","","231424","Roman coin 09 174 - 1.jpg","images/jwatters/",
