A lead alloy seal, dating from the post medieval or modern period. The seal is circular and has a slot running through it from side to side. One face carries the device of the Star of David (interlocked equilateral triangles forming a star), the other the number "227". The seal may be from cloth or some other goods, and may denote that the merchandise is Kosher. It is 15.9mm in diameter and 3.5mm thick. It weighs 2.63gm. A similar example is ESS-FE7782, and one almost the same is LIN-290B62.
