Coin
Unique ID: HAMP-2197A7
Object type certainty: Certain
A slightly worn 4th-century silver Roman miliarensis of Constantine II, 'VIRTVS EXERCITVS', Thessalonica mint (337-340 AD; Reece period 17; R.I.C. 46)
Notes:
This is a particularly rare coin. There is an example in the British Museum which is struck from slightly different dies. This issue comes from the very end of Constantine's reign, or even from the period after his assassination before the mint of Thessalonica had been informed.
This has been noted as an interesting find by the recorder.
