3 tesserae. These are small rough blocks, two are of red tile and one is of off-white limestone. The upper surfaces are worn. Sample dimensions 19 mm x 17.5 mm x 11 mm. Such pieces were used to make floors in Roman villas and other buildings. The small size of these mean that they are likely to have been to make finer tesselated floors and mosaics. Weight: 18 g
