Copper alloy Byzantine decanummium, of Justinian I (527-65) probably minted in Constantinople, AD 542/3- 548/9. Hahn, MIBE no.100 Sear, Byz. Coins no.168. Finders Ref- 1
Notes:
This comes from a group of 16 coins found in close proximity. They all apparently have typical British corrosion. Amongst the group are three unusual coins from the Eastern Mediterranean; a nummus of Constantius II or Constans from Constantinople, 348-51; a decanummium of Justinian I from Constantinople 542-9; an Islamic coin prob c.750-900.
This has been noted as an interesting find by the recorder.
