A complete silver gilt finger ring of medieval date. It has a faceted bezel and shoulders engraved with springs or floral motifs.
This ring has been cited by Kennedy (2018, 98, note 73).
Notes:
Discussion: This ring is of a type which relates to iconographic rings, produced in relatively large numbers throughout the fifteenth and early sixteen centuries, other examples which lack any iconographic engraving and are decorated with floral motifs include one from Newton Abbot, Devon (Treasure Annual Report 2000, no. 112), and another from Lewes area, East Sussex (Treasure Annual Report 2004, no. 214).
Dimensions: 22.1mm external diameter, 18.2mm internal diameter, 6.7mm in bezel height and 3.86g in weight.
